Outreach Ministry

HABITAT FOR HUMANITY
Volunteers build low cost homes for low-income families who qualify. The owner does not pay interest on the loan and puts in 500 sweat equity hours on building the home.
 
MCCOMB INTERDENOMINATIONAL CARE ASSOCIATION (MICA)
MICA is a food pantry that supplies food boxes to low-income families in Pike County who are in need. This is supported by area churches.
 
MISSION PIKE COUNTY
This is an organization to improve race relations in Pike County. They sponsor such events as an annual community-wide picnic, Easter Sunrise Service, and liaison for troubled school children and local ministers.
 
SALVATION ARMY
This organization reaches out to people in need of clothing, churches, overnight lodging, and etc. They also provided toys and food for low-income families at Christmas.
 
FILLING IN THE GAP (FIG TREE)
FIG Tree helps indigent people in emergency situations when there is not another source available. This organization is supported by downtown churches and administered by St. Andrew’s Mission.
 
GLOBAL MINISTRIES/VIM
Volunteers in Mission (VIM) is a mission team sponsored through CUMC that goes to another country annually.
 
UNITED METHODIST HOUR
United Methodist Hour is a television church service and Sunday School, which airs each Sunday Morning at 8 a.m. on WAPT. This televised service is used to spread God’s word over Mississippi and throughout parts of the southeast. It also has a prayer ministry and a weekly radio broadcast.
 
CUMC provides day care service and preschool instruction for children ages 1 year old (and walking) to 4 years of age.
